Orbyt collaborating with Denmark’s largest media publisher

JP/Politikens Hus is a market leading media house that reaches half of the Danish population with their digital and printed publications. The company runs several publishers, papers, and niche media.

With half of their business revenue related to subscriptions, it’s crucial that the onboarding, invoicing and payment process runs smoothly. After all, a seamless payment experience plays a big part in terms of customer experience, and customers loyalty in the long run.

With subscription-based models, companies build a stronger customer relationship, get higher renewal rates and lower churn.

The challenge

Betalingsservice by Mastercard has been the market leading way of charging for single and recurring payments for subscriptions and memberships in Denmark.

The initial priority for JP/Politikens Hus was to find a vendor that could integrate Betalingsservice to their internal systems – getting a smooth setup to enhance the payment journey for their customers, as well as getting new payment options. Through a referral Orbyt was mentioned as a suitable partner for collaboration. Orbyt also delivers b2b invoicing in the local standard in Denmark, as well as email-invoicing.

Solution and success

JP/Politikens Hus contacted Orbyt in 2017, and the collaboration has been successful ever since.

“We have a very good relationship with the people at Orbyt. A competent team who makes sure everything runs smoothly with a good and stable solution. Orbyt has a platform built for the future, making new integrations easy to handle. This makes our job a lot easier”

says Morten Kragh-Sørensen, Product Manager

And by new integration, Morten Krag-Sørensen is talking about MobilePay – the Danes’ preferred payment method with around 4.5 million users in Denmark. This is also the best channel for new signups to their publications. After just a few months since implementing MobilePay Subscription, 30% of consumer subscription payments is now done using this method, and that number is increasing.

With invoicing and payments running without any frictions, the company spend less time handling questions and dealing with technical issues.

“On a day-to-day basis, the Orbyt platform free up resources from both development and operations”

Morten Kragh-Sørensen

Handling new payment methods and integrations is not a core business for media houses, and through Orbyt they can get a future-proof service without spending precious IT development capacity.

In the forefront of digital payments

Denmark and the other Nordic countries are currently among the most digitalised countries in the world. Digital payments such as cards, account-to-account and mobile payments are broadly used in the population with more than 94% of payments being digital. Of the transactions Orbyt process in Denmark, 96% are digital.

At Orbyt we strive to be at the forefront of an intricately crafted invoicing and payment universe, offering an end-to-end integrated SaaS solution for invoicing and payments. Getting feedback like this from JP/Politikens Hus and other great clients is what drives us to continue working hard, both for existing collaborations, as well as for those who are yet to join us.
